Question - Since mankind has been able to ponder its own being the ultimate question it has asked is: "What are God, Man and the Universe?" I believe that the answer to this question has not been fully considered because the answer would point to a state of being quite beyond the view of our personal senses. We must be willing to look at the idea that there is a reality of being which is removed from the mortal picture we have traditionally entertained of ourselves and of our Universe. With this in mind I would like to restate the question, "What are God, Man and the Universe?"

Answer - I believe that the Universe including Man is made up of infinite consciousness which is spiritual and not material. I believe that when we look out at the Universe what we see is our own thoughts which are not outside of us but are our very own being. When we look about us and see a beautiful field with cows, trees and people we can say, "That is what I am". At night when we look out at the stars we can know, "I am the stars and the entire Universe".

When we have awareness our thoughts are the statement of our being. This is an infinitely bigger state of being than our poor mortal body. We need to give up the idea that we are a mortal thought in a mortal body. We must learn that matter and Spirit are opposites and we are spiritual, not material.

Mortal existence itself is nothing more than a lie which would appear to have been handed down to us from generation to generation but in reality which is a momentary thought or error. This thought would say, "I am a mortal form in a material body and from which I will pass when it decays and dies". This is all there is to the material dream of life. It is but an erroneous thought. We can escape from this seeming prison of mortality simply by awakening to know that we are in reality made of Spirit which can never decay or die.

What is needed is for us to define God, Man and Universe and then to hold this thought in our mind as continuously as we can. We must define all being as: an infinite Ego which consitutes all space and time. Therefore the real statement of being would be: "I Am All".

In a material universe this would not be possible. We need to proclaim: "I am Mind, Consciousness or Spirit. I am the only Ego or self-awareness. I fill all space and time. Therefore there is no mortal space or time. I never had a beginning or end, an edge or boundary. There is no "other" Mind, person or state of being.

There are seven qualities which are quite sufficient for now to define the infinite state of being. They are Life, Truth, Love, Spirit, Soul, Mind, and Principle. We owe this definition of God to the Christian Scientists. If we take these terms and realize that they define our individual Ego we can get a truer picture of our being. If we would take these words and use them to modify each other we would find that they give us a picture of the Infinite God. We must know that our Life is the real (Truth); our Spirit is the only Soul (identity); our only Principle is Love; our Mind is the only Life. Thus these words can radiate, sparkle and reveal our true Consciousness.

We must know that we, each one, stands at the center of an infinite circle which is our infinite Consciousness. Each one of us needs to say, "I Am All". If we could all know this then the spiritual qualities would define the heaven or nirvana that all people aspire to. We would find that this heaven is not a place but as has been said, "It is a divine state of mind" which we do not have to put off until after death as it is no place or time - but a state of consciousness.

One might say, "If I am all how can another individual also be all?" The answer is that we have to understand the nature of Spirit and realize its allness. It is the very nature of matter or mortality that it canot be all for it is limitation itself. Therefore we have to say, "I am Spirit and Spirit is All".

Many have wondered what happens to the individual Ego at death. I believe it is entirely possible that this more infinite view of things may well be our eventual destination. This Ego would define its own state of being. We could arrive at this standpoint if the individual has been striving to acquire a more universal point of view. For this reason alone I believe that it is wise for every living Soul to strive to think from the spiritual point of view. The most immediate result would be a more peaceful world. It is obvious that if we already are and have all then there would be no more covetousness, strife or unhappiness.

For anyone who agrees with this statement of being I invite you to contact me to discuss this concept or to join the Society of Universal Man.
